The early years of a child’s life play a critical role in shaping their health, developmental and life outcomes. Access to health and behavioral services for expectant mothers, newborns and young children can improve outcomes beyond physical health for their lifetimes.

Through the work of Partner Agencies in the Health Focus Area, the First 5 Commission strives to ensure the well being of all children in the County. In their work towards this goal, the Health focus is comprised of five goals- Early Screenings & Intervention, Health Care Access, Oral Health, Primary Care Services, and Health & Safety Education.
