First 5 San Bernardino’s (F5SB) efforts to connect with and support county families are making a measurable impact, according to results from our latest resident survey.
In 2022, we conducted our first countywide survey to understand how residents perceived our work and the overall perception of resources and services for families with young children in San Bernardino County. This year, we repeated the survey using the same approach – randomized phone interviews – to see how awareness and perceptions have changed over time.
The results are encouraging. In three years, there is:
- Greater awareness: More residents now recognize F5SB.
- Higher favorability: Overall favorability toward the organization has grown since the first survey.
- Campaign recall: All three of our strategic priority area campaigns performed strongly, with about one-third of residents recalling each one. These are Kid Safe Summer, Little Teeth, Big Responsibility and Gift a Kid a Book.
- Positive impact: Residents who saw or heard our campaigns were more likely to know about First 5 San Bernardino and view us positively. Nearly 75% said they “learned something new” from our outreach.
These findings show that our marketing and communications strategies are resonating with the community and strengthening our mission to give every child in San Bernardino County the best start in life. For more information on F5SB or our campaigns, visit First5SanBernardino.org.
