In our Spring Milestones edition, we let you in on a little secret about our brand new social media series called “LuCretia in the Neighborhood.” Starring Community Engagement Specialist LuCretia Dowdy, our 19-year team member has been traveling the county talking to parents, caregivers and even our littlest residents. She does this at over 50 events per year, but now families are joining her online!
In this video series, LuCretia gets real with San Bernardino County families, getting their take on what it’s like to raise children in 2024. Fans of Reels will occasionally see segments on @first5sanbernardino on Instagram and Facebook from her visits to the many community events and happenings around the county. You can also catch these segments through the LuCretia in the Neighborhood webpage.
The very first question LuCretia asked a parent was “What is the funniest thing your child has ever said to you?” and it sparked a humorous dialogue about how children absorb information so quickly as they get older. A conversation with another family revealed a dad who loves to spend outdoor time with his children to get them off their tablets and enjoy quality time together.
With its casual “person on the street” style, LuCretia in the Neighborhood gets heartfelt, silly and educational right in the neighborhoods where our residents play, live and work.
