First 5 San Bernardino (F5SB) was honored with an award marking the organization’s major milestone – its 25th anniversary – at the 2025 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Inland Empire Polaris Awards Gala on Thursday, November 13. This award recognized our organization’s commitment to impactful marketing and communications efforts.

First 5 San Bernardino’s communications team developed and executed a countywide campaign centered around a fresh tagline, creative concept and integrated marketing strategy. The “Stronger Starts, Better Life” campaign sought to reignite recognition of the organization, and remind families, partners and the public of the importance of the first 5 years of a child’s life. These efforts resulted in the prestigious Polaris Award, celebrating the strategy and creativity behind this 25th anniversary marketing initiative. According to the PRSA Inland Empire website, “winning entries represent the highest standards in public relations and communications within the Inland Empire.”

“Receiving a top honors award for our 25th anniversary marketing efforts makes this campaign even more meaningful,” said First 5 San Bernardino Communications Officer Kimberly VandenBosch. “For a quarter-century, we’ve been committed to helping young children and families thrive, and the communications effort behind the anniversary’s gala recognizes the impact of that work. This demonstrates the power of communications strategy, collaboration between multiple county and statewide agencies and measurable results.”

We share our thanks and appreciation to the Public Relations Society of America Inland Empire for recognizing our communications efforts as some of the brightest public relations initiatives in our county.
