First 5 San Bernardino (F5SB) works to improve the lives of young children and their families by developing strategic partnerships, quality programming and public awareness campaigns. A critical tool in keeping us on track is our ever-evolving Strategic Plan. The 2023-2028 Strategic Plan is now available at First5SanBernardino.org.
This document outlines our organization’s vision and goals for the next five years and is a collaborative effort between F5SB, community partners and San Bernardino County families.
In the plan, people can learn about our integrated efforts in child health, early learning and family support – our three strategic priority areas. Goals and objectives are clearly defined for each focus area, with specific strategies outlined to help meet each goal. The plan also explains our organization’s six key roles in systems work, from collaborator to funder.
The 2023-2028 Strategic Plan also includes information on the current state of young children and families in San Bernardino compared to other California counties. Our agency’s guiding principles and commitment to equity are also explained.
F5SB Executive Director Karen E. Scott encourages community members to review the plan and share input with the organization. “The 2023-2028 Strategic Plan framework provides the First 5 San Bernardino Commission a roadmap for how we will act as champions for children and families. This is continuously assessed, and we welcome input from our community, especially our county’s parents!”
