Local Social Media Celebrities Tapped to Help Spread the Word About Pediatric Oral Care

Oral health campaign 2024

Tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease and it’s disturbing to hear that 60 percent of kindergarteners in San Bernardino County have already experienced tooth decay. To change this trend, First 5 San Bernardino sought out local social media influencers to help parents and caregivers understand the importance of early childhood oral care.

For the third year in a row, in partnership with San Bernardino County Public Health Smile SBC, a bilingual oral health campaign called “Little Teeth, Big Responsibility” is providing helpful tips and resources to help families practice excellent oral care with their little ones.

This year, the two-month campaign features five partnerships with regional social media celebrity influencers. The stars of local media stations and a popular mommy blogger all received a pediatric oral care “swag box” that included a dentist play set, a kid sized Hydroflask®, the Potter the Otter Visits the Dentist book, and, of course, kids’ toothpaste.

All five of our social partners shared compelling “good vs. bad oral care” graphics, videos of their little one opening the swag box, and having fun learning about proper teeth care.

“These local partners appreciate that First 5 San Bernardino is trying to improve the oral health of young children in our county,” said Kimberly VandenBosch, Communications Officer for First 5 San Bernardino. “Their video reels and social posts are so much fun and show how much these local celebrities care about not only their own kids, but helping other families.”

First 5 San Bernardino gives a special shoutout to our social media partners!
