1. Cozy Spot
Select a cozy spot. Create a special
magical space where books are kept and
read. Make sure the lighting is good and
seating is comfortable.
2. Accessibility
I can’t reach! Create or place sturdy
shelving low enough that your child can
access books on their own.
3. Bargains
Bargain shop – The purchasing of
books can be pricey. Stop by your local
library as they may have FREE books. Don’t
forget to checkout your neighborhood yard
sales, or dollar store.
4. Kids Choose
Let them guide you! Pay attention to
what types of books your child is
interested in. Take turns on selecting.
5. Collection
The Collection! Stack up on books by
swapping with others, or asking for books
as an alternative gift idea. Soon your homebased library will begin to increase.
