First 5 San Bernardino (F5SB) was honored with four awards at the 2024 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Inland Empire Polaris Awards Gala on Friday, November 8. These awards recognized our organization’s commitment to impactful marketing and communications efforts.

F5SB received two prestigious Polaris Awards and two Capella Awards, celebrating the hard work and creativity behind our marketing initiatives. According to the PRSA Inland Empire website, “winning entries represent the highest standards in public relations and communications within the Inland Empire.”

“Winning these awards reflects the dedication, creativity and passion that drive our work,” said First 5 San Bernardino Communications Officer Kimberly VandenBosch. “Our PR and marketing efforts are augmenting the organization’s mission by making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. We are very proud to have been partnering with Westbound Communications on this award-winning work.”

First 5 San Bernardino earned a Polaris Award for our social media program, highlighting our efforts using various social media platforms to raise awareness about the importance of early childhood development. Another Polaris was awarded in the Campaigns category for our 25th Anniversary Campaign, which featured fun animated “monster and alien” graphics.

F5SB also celebrated a Capella Award for our annual Local Outcomes Report, which was recognized for its clear and impactful reporting on community outcomes that showcase the success of our programs and partners. Another Capella Award was presented for our “Little Teeth, Big Responsibility” campaign, executed annually in conjunction with Smile SBC that educates families about the significance of oral health during early childhood.

We share our thanks and appreciation to the Public Relations Society of America for recognizing our communications efforts as some of the brightest public relations initiatives in our county.
