Employee Raylena Figueora

Raylena Figueroa’s path to First 5 San Bernardino is one defined by courage and heart. After more than 16 years in organizational leadership and administration, including serving as Campus Director of Financial Aid and managing a team of 10, Raylena decided to focus on her young children. During her time at home, she volunteered extensively in her children’s classrooms, supporting students who were academically challenged and earning multiple parent and volunteer awards along the way. Those experiences ignited something new in her: a desire to serve children and families more directly.

When she was ready to return to the workforce, Raylena knew she wanted work that felt purposeful, community-focused and grounded in service. First 5 San Bernardino stood out immediately. She felt deeply connected to our mission and, more importantly, discovered a team and work environment where she felt she truly belonged. In her role, Raylena finds immense fulfillment supporting partner agencies that are making a real difference for families and young children in the county.

Outside of work, Raylena brings the same energy and dedication to the baseball and softball fields, where she coaches year-round and right by her children’s sides since they first began playing. A proud Dodgers fan, lifelong sports enthusiast, and devoted wife and mother, Raylena channels her commitment to family and community into everything she does, making her a valued and inspiring member of the First 5 San Bernardino team!
